FAQ
Delivery
What do i pay for delivery
All our items are sent out for FREE
What are your delivery times
Our delivery times can be found on our delivery page CLICK HERE, times vary depending on item ordered.
Why do some items take 14 days to deliver
Most smaller items will be completed within a few days, but as we custom build our products and at very busy times the larger items this can take up to 14 days. (please call if you need by a specific date and we will do our best to accommodate). We ask you to allow extra time for delivery during Christmas and New year periods.
How will i know when my order is going to arrive
We will send you an email when it is to be sent out and a delivery day, we will also send a tracking link to the courier for larger items (the tracking link will be traceable from the evening of dispatch).
Do i have to be in for delivery
On all larger items that are sent by courier someone will need to sign for the item. Some smaller items may also need a signature.
Can i arrange for a particular day for my item to be delivered
Yes if you let us know what day it can be delivered we can arrange this with the courier (unfortunately we cannot guarantee this as once it leaves us we are in the hands of the courier but it will be scheduled for the day you request).
Manufacturing
Can i get a custom item
Yes we have a designer that you can talk to to discuss any changes to any of our designs or if you can email a sketch of what you need we can quote you for this.
What is wrought iron style
Wrought iron is no longer readily available and cost prohibitive, we use steel that is forged to the same style of the old wrought iron handrails.
Where will my product be build
Our manufacturing workshop is based in Sheffield (the home of steel), we do all of our work from here.
What paint finishes do you do
We offer either in bare steel or in a black etch zinfos primer. We can finish paint if your item is to be collect as the finish can get marked in transit which is fine with the primer as this is to be painted over on arrival or after fitting. (if there are any marks on your item, this can be sanded slightly to remove them and then painted).
Why do you not powder coat
We do not powder coat for the same reason as finish painting but also powder coating is not suitable for some items due to it not getting into all the corners ans once the powder coating is chipped or marked it cannot be just painted over as with a normal paint system. see pictures below of powder coating that has been chipped and left you can see how it creeps under the coating and cannot be stopped.
Can i visit your workshop
Yes you can call in to see us and look at the components we use for our products and any item already built, please make an appointment before calling.
