These Slide-In bars have been designed by us to compliment our range of original Drop-In bars

THE BAR FITS ACROSS THE DOOR OPENING TO GREATLY INCREASE THE SECURITY

Benefits of slide-in version

• Can be fitted with lock on left or right
• Only one padlock required per bar
• Expands with surface (e.g. expanding/contracting wood in summer/winter)

The bar is made from 40x40mm steel square box section and the locating brackets are 50mm x 50mm steel box section with 50mm x 3mm flat plate. The padlock facility is provided by welded steel tabs which creates a strong locking method.

Brackets will be supplied pre-drilled for easy DIY fitting

170mm x 50mm x 53mm
Hole size 13mm

Above you can see that when the bar is in place the padlocked end is flush with the bracket and the other end sticks out approx. 50mm. This is done for strength when engaged and so that when fitted to a wooden door/structure it will be able to expand and contract with the wood.

Painting
All parts will be supplied painted in primer

Fixing
These can be fitted to timber or brick with appropriate fixing (Anti-Theft for brick or Coach Bolts (150mm long) for Wood.

Backing plates are recommended for wood fixing to add strength.

PLEASE NOTE
If you order a length of 1000mm (1m) between the fixing hole centres on the brackets we will build it so that the hole fixing points will be at 1000mm (1m) but the length of the slide-in bar end to end will be 1100mm this is for the extra that is needed to protrude out of the end.

How to use the bar

1. YOU WILL NEED APPROX 150mm SPACE AT EITHER SIDE FOR SLIDING IN AND OUT OF THE BAR
2. SLIDE THE BAR ACROSS OUT OF THE PADLOCKED BRACKET
3. YOU CAN SEE ON THE PICTURES THAT AT THE NON-PADLOCKED END HOW THE BAR STICKS OUT FURTHER WHERE YOU WILL NEED APPROX AN EXTRA 50mm OF ROOM FOR THIS TO HAPPEN
4. WHEN THE BAR HAS BEEN SLID ACROSS YOU CAN THE LIFT THE PADLOCKED END UP ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE BRACKET
5. FINALLY SLIDE THE BAR OUT

FITTING IS REVERSAL OF REMOVAL

Fitting Instructions

1. POSITION ONE BRACKET WHERE REQUIRED AND MARK HOLE POINTS
2. DRILL THROUGH WOOD AND SECURE WITH BOLTS THROUGH BRACKET INTO WOOD/BRICK
3. REPEAT WITH SECOND BRACKET
4. SLIDE IN BAR FOR SECURITY
